The father of troubled pop star Britney Spears will retain control over her affairs for at least three more weeks, a court ruled Thursday.

Jamie Spears was granted “temporary conservatorship” over his 26-year-old daughter’s affairs two weeks ago when she was in a Los Angeles hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

Los Angeles Court Commissioner Reva Goetz Thursday extended that conservatorship until March 10. The action was taken because a psychiatric report on Britney, due Wednesday, had not yet been submitted, People.com reported.

In another development, Spears’ brother Bryan, 30, and Los Angeles attorney Ivan Taback were named co-trustees of the singer’s trust. Trust funds are used to pay for Britney’s security, medicine, food and other expenses, court papers said.

Britney Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline has agreed to let the troubled pop princess see their two sons

but only if the singer’s mom, Lynne gives the go-ahead first, it has been revealed.

Britney’s mom is currently looking after Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James, while Federline  attends New York Fashion Week with the likes of P Diddy.

A source said: “K-Fed and Lynne get on really well. He hopes Lynne can bring Britney round to see sense so that she can have some face time with her kids.

“He knows however dazed and confused Brit gets, she’ll always love those two kids with all her heart.”

Meawhile, the Toxic singer’s dad has been given the power to sack the star’s manager.

A Los Angeles court granted Jamie Spears’ request to fire Britney’s business manager Howard Grossman during a hearing on Thursday, in which he requested additional powers over his troubled daughters affairs.

Jamie Spears took control of Britney’s money and assets after his daughter was committed into a psychiatric ward at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles last week.

Britney’s parents reportedly dislike Grossman because of his close-relationship with the star’s self-proclaimed manager Sam Lutfi, who they claim drugged their daughter.

Documents released Friday show Grossman was served with the legal documents on Thursday afternoon.

In the papers Los Angeles Superior Court commissioner Reva Goetz ordered Howard Grossman to ‘turn over all documents, records and assets relating to Britney Spears.’

The order came after Goetz held an emergency closed-door hearing brought by Jamie Spears and lawyer Andrew Wallet, who is part of Britney’s conservatorship.

Under the powers of the conservatorship order, Jamie Spears is able to restrict the visitors Britney receives and has the right to approve contracts.

Spears parents hope the measures approved by the court will allow them to calm the craziness that has surrounded the pop star.

Britney discharged herself from the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday February 6 after doctors ruled she did not pose a danger to herself or to others.

After leaving she was pursued by crowds of paparazzi and television helicopters on a wild chase around Los Angeles before meeting up with her British pap boyfriend Adnan Galib.

The decision by doctors to let Britney leave the mental health facility infuriated the star’s parents.

In a statement they said: “As parents of an adult child in the throws of a mental health crisis, we were extremely disappointed this morning to learn that over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist, our daughter Britney was released from the hospital that could best care for her and keep her safe.

“We are deeply concerned about our daughter’s safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk.”

“There are conservatorship orders in place created to protect our daughter that are being blatantly disregarded.

“We ask only that the court’s orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted.”

Amy Winehouse will not be performing at this year’s Grammy Awards because her request for a visa has been turned down by the U.S. Embassy, her publicist said Thursday.

“Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery,” The Outside Organization, which counts the troubled retro-soul sensation among its clients, said in a statement.

Winehouse shot to fame with the autobiographical single “Rehab.”

The 24-year-old singer and her acclaimed “Back to Black” album are nominated in six categories for at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Her potent blend of blues, jazz, pop and soul has won praise from critics and fans, but Winehouse has become as famous for her chaotic personal life as for her music.

Since the album’s U.S. release last year, she has canceled a slew of appearances amid reports of drug use.

Her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is in jail awaiting trial on charges of assault and lying to police.

Why was she released? That’s the lingering question after Britney Spears was discharged from the hospital Wednesday over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist and against the wishes of her father, who has been named as her conservator.

Jamie and Lynne Spears, in a joint statement given to The Associated Press through their attorney, said they were “extremely disappointed” to learn their daughter had been allowed out.

“We are deeply concerned about our daughter’s safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk,” the statement said. “We ask only that the court’s orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted.”

Jamie Spears on Monday was named conservator of his 26-year-old daughter, and he and attorney Andrew Wallet were made co-conservators of Britney’s estate.

A conservatorship is created when a court determines a person can no longer care for his or her own affairs.

Though she arrived at UCLA Medical Center escorted by a caravan of police motorcycles, cars and a helicopter, the singer left without media attention. She spent the day dodging the spotlight as she drove around Los Angeles in a black Mercedes-Benz with an unidentified man.

But photographers soon found her and surrounded the vehicle at each stop. When Spears’ car arrived at the Beverly Hills Hotel, a detail of officers was sent to “keep the peace,” police Sgt. Mark Miner said. He said it’s common for such details to respond to reports of paparazzi causing a nuisance.

Spears’ release came after a series of legal developments in which her father fought for control of the pop star and her estate, her frequent companion was ordered to stay away from her, and her mother vividly described her daughter’s fragile state, drug use and the strange behavior that led to her hospitalization.

The troubled singer was hospitalized on Jan. 31. On Monday, Commissioner Reva Goetz ruled that Spears must remain in the conservatorship until at least Feb. 14. Goetz also appointed a physician to evaluate Spears’ condition.

On Friday, a court issued a restraining order against Sam Lufti, the man who’s been at Spears’ side in recent months. Her mother portrayed him as a Svengali-like figure who held her daughter hostage in her own home, drugged her, took over her finances and controlled the paparazzi who constantly surround her.

As her conservator, Spears’ father was granted access to all of his daughter’s medical records and authority to determine where Spears lives and who she sees.

Spears, who is in a child custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, was also briefly hospitalized earlier in January after police were called to her home when she refused to return her sons to a Federline bodyguard after a visit.

Spears has since lost all visitation rights to her sons, 1-year-old Jayden James and 2-year-old Sean Preston.

On Wednesday, Buck said a grand theft report was filed with the Los Angeles Police Department, alleging that someone took “miscellaneous items,” including a painting and jewelry, from Spears’ home. Buck didn’t say who filed the report or when.

Britney’s Mom Alleges Manager Controlled Singer With Drugs

The combination of prescription drugs that Britney Spears’ mother claims were ground up in the singer’s food was a risky mix that could cause hysterical outbursts, agitation, creepy hallucinations, even a stroke, medical experts told ABCNEWS.com.

“Grinding up medications without medical direction — that’s dangerous,” said Dr. Joshua Prager, director of the Center for the Rehabilitation of Pain Syndromes (CRPS) at UCLA Medical Plaza. “Drugs have very different ways of getting into the bloodstream when you crush them up. Nobody should be messing with drugs without a physician’s supervision.”

In court documents requesting that the singer’s self-described manager Sam Lutfi be ordered out of Spears’ house, Lynne Spears said Lutfi was slipping ground-up pills in her daughter’s food to keep her quiet and at one point Lutfi told Lynne Spears that Britney had to take “10 pills a day.”
