Britney Spears is reportedly planning a comeback concert in Las Vegas in an effort to put her troubled period behind her once and for all.

According to the News of the World, the singer is planning a one-off gig at the city’s Palms Hotel And Casino at the end of year, possibly followed by a series of other high profile gigs in 2009.

Britney’s 2007 album ‘Blackout’ was supposed to launch her career comeback last autumn after she took two years out to give birth to sons Sean and Jayden. However, her accompanying live performances - such as on the MTV Video Music Awards - were panned as amateur and clumsy.

However, a source told the newspaper that won’t be the case now that Britney is more accepting of professional advice following her hospitalisation earlier this year: “The concert will be one to top them all - a spectacle.

“It will have jaw-dropping lights, amazing costumes and a performance from Britney to roll back the years.

“There’s a [lot of money] on offer but the onus is on Brit to put in a top show.

“Britney is finally getting her life - and career - back on track and the whole world will see the evidence when she steps on that stage.”

This week the singer’s producers JR Rotem and Sean Garrett dropped hints that Britney is already working on her next album.

In related news, Britney has been linked to a new man Jason Trewick.

Jason is believed to be Britney’s agent but her dad Jamie Spears is said to fully approve of their professional relationship turning romantic.

A source told the Mirror: “Jamie thinks Jason would be a great match for Britney.

“She always had a thing for bad boys but now she realises good guys can be attractive, too.”

The pair attended fashion boss Christian Audigier’s 50th birthday party together over the weekend.

Britney Spears reportedly has a new man in her life.

The ‘Toxic’ singer made her first formal public appearance in months at the 50th birthday party of fashion mogul Christian Audigier, where she was spotted with Jason Trewick.

Trewick, according to sources, has known Britney for years; and the singer’s dad, Jamie Spears, has been telling friends he is a “stabilizing influence” on his daughter.

Britney Spears father Jamie has quit his job as a caterer to dedicate himself full-time to overseeing his daughter’s business affairs.

Jamie Spears was appointed conservator of the star’s legal and financial affairs in February and is in charge of her estate, with court-appointed observer Andrew Wallet, until July 31.

And now, according to court papers, the pop star’s father has taken on a full-time position as conservator, being awarded a $2,500 weekly salary for the role.

Spears was also awarded a $10,000 lump-sum to cover the first month of his co-conservatorship over his daughter’s estate, according to People.com.

The court documents also give the reason why he needs to quit his job as a caterer, with the papers stating the responsibilities of conservator “have required (his) full-time attention.”

There will be a further court hearing on May 29 to discuss monetary matters in greater detail.

And it seems Spears’ role over-looking the singer’s affairs is paying off — since he was appointed conservator in February, the 26-year-old has secured expanded visitation rights with her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

BRITNEY Spears forgot her troubles for the day, playing bikini babe on a Costa Rican beach where she was reportedly staying at actor Mel Gibson’s property.

The Toxic singer and her father, Jamie, are guests of Gibson and his wife, Robin, at their $31 million mansion in the resort town of Samara.

Spears frolicked in the waves and soaked up the sun in an Ed Hardy bikini and sunglasses with a bloke identified as US agent Jason Trawick and her dad, who apparently told the paparazzi they could shoot all they wanted as long as they kept 50m away.

Spears and Gibson used to be neighbours in Malibu.

Their friendship became public when they were seen dining together in March.
