Bryan Adams has no idea how his friendship with Amy Winehouse became public knowledge.

When he invited the troubled star to stay with him in the Caribbean during the Christmas holidays, he thought it would remain a secret trip.

Amy, 24, tried to slip away to Bryan’s Mustique home without the paparazzi on her tail - but with no luck.

‘Let me say something about this whole Amy Winehouse scenario,’ says Bryan, 48. ‘I don’t even know, truthfully, how anybody knows I know her – other than the fact that I photographed her for charity.’

Bryan thinks the media shouldn’t intrude into Amy’s personal life.

‘It’s her business,’ he tells Seven magazine. ‘You know what I mean? I just thought it would be nice for someone to come and spend time… But I don’t want to focus on that.’

Island records are to release a special deluxe version of Amy Winehouse’s debut album ‘Frank’ on May 12.

The album originally made number 13 in the UK charts in January 2004 and re-entered at 24 four years later. The new release will be a double CD contating rarities and b-sides with the following tracks:

Heath Ledger’s frenzied reinvention of the Joker had fans and colleagues buzzing. His dreadful clown face was seen online by millions, and stood as the goosebump-raising image upon which nearly all early marketing of “The Dark Knight” hinged.

Now the Batman archfiend stands as Ledger’s next-to-last performance. And while it’s not the first, “The Dark Knight” has already emerged as arguably the biggest movie featuring a posthumous role in Hollywood history.

Major stars including James Dean, Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Spencer Tracy and Will Rogers had high-profile films released after they died. The deaths of others — notably Bruce Lee and his son Brandon — created an eerie allure that heightened interest in their final films.

Yet none had the magnitude of a comic-book franchise with an illustrious 70-year history, and movies in those eras did not arrive with the fanfare of today. Certainly none had the advance word of a delirious, demented turn by an actor completely reimagining of one of Hollywood’s greatest villains.

He tells U.S. magazine Us Weekly, “Amy’s doing well. She is not going back to rehab at this time. “The problem is that her face looks bad because of impetigo - it’s not a nice thing, but it’s not related to drugs. (Amy is) having time off, recording a bit at her home studios, about to go back into the studio properly and working towards her husband’s freedom.” Winehouse’s husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, has been incarcerated in a London prison since November (07) on charges of assault and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

And her appearance shocked onlookers as it showed Amy’s drug abuse has wrecked her looks.

Wino is expected to check in to rehab abroad because there are too many temptations in the UK.

‘Amy has admitted she needs to check int­o rehab again,’ reveals a source to The Sun.

‘There are too many temptations for her in the UK – people around her in London are making it impossible for her to stay clean for any length of time.’

Amy’s management is considering flying the troubled pop star to Cape Town for her treatment.
