But sifting through the bevy of love-crazed beauties isn’t going to be easy, so Domenico will be looking for advice from another A Shot at Love alum … Ashley.

The resident redneck, who flew into a rage when Tila Tequila sent him packing, will literally sort through all the boobs and butts at Domenico’s disposal and hopefully find the perfect companion for his best bud on That’s Amore! There’s gonna be pillow fights, cat fights and a big, big bowl of spaghetti and meatballs that’s just the right size for a down and dirty wrestling match. Ciao bella! He may be new to our country, but as Domenico eliminates the girls one by one, he’ll discover that true love needs no translation. Now That’s Amore!

Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page Says Reunion Tour May Happen After All

Led Zeppelin might not be headed over the hills and far away quite yet — the recently reunited rock legends have let it slip that they may actually perform together again after all, but not before September.

Guitarist Jimmy Page revealed the scenario over the weekend, according to Reuters, saying that the legendary band’s one-off, strongly received December reunion gig in London, which sparked rumors of a world tour, was likely a precursor to more shows.

“I can assure you the amount of work that we put into the O2 [concert], for ourselves rehearsing and the staging of it, was probably what you put into a world tour,” Page said, adding that more shows are off for the moment because of singer Robert Plant’s commitments to touring with bluegrass star Alison Krauss in support of their Grammy-nominated joint album, Raising Sand.

“Robert Plant also [has] a parallel project running, and he’s really busy with that project, certainly until September, so I can’t give you any news,” Page added.

In an interview with New York’s Madison Square Garden Network during halftime at a Knicks game on Friday, Plant also opened the door to more shows, saying, “You never know what is around the corner. It’s just nice to play with those guys,” when asked about Zeppelin tour rumors.

That’s a sharp contrast from what Plant said in late September, when he shot down claims of a potential tour outright. “There’ll be one show and that’ll be it,” he told British music mag Uncut.

Plant’s remarks had come days after Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl apparently volunteered his services for a potential Zep tour. After saying that he had planned to sneak his way into the long-sold-out London show, the former Nirvana drummer added that he wouldn’t mind manning the kit for Led Zeppelin if needed. “[I am] at their beck and call,” he told British music weekly the New Musical Express.

Palestinian hip hop rapped at Sundance

Sunday, January 20th, 2008 - No Comments »

Palestinian hip hop group DAM, which has spawned a cult following and a small army of imitators, was featured here in a new film at the Sundance Film Festival on the emerging Middle East music scene.

“Slingshot Hip Hop” by director Jackie Salloum offers a peek into contemporary life in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, as well as the Middle East hip hop culture inspired by the political rants of US rappers such as Public Enemy, Tupac Shakur and Eminem.

Rapper Mahmoud Shalabi from the village Akka, is featured in the documentary, as is female hip hop duo Arapeyat. The movie also highlights the work of the group Palestinian Rapperz (PR) among others.

Critics said Palestinian rap groups offer an alternative form of resistance against “Israeli occupiers,” reinforcing entrenched Palestinian views of pre-1948 history.

Their message has left audiences and critics wondering if the new music might not simply reinforce longstanding cultural differences.

But Salloum offers a different take.

“Palestinians are steadfast and a very proud people,” she said in an interview with AFP.

“When I visit my family in the West Bank, the situation just gets worse and worse. But these rappers gave me hope,” she said.

The filmmaker said the rap groups often bring positive messages to youths, encouraging them to express their anger through rhymes, not violence.

And although they are not topping the charts in Israel, they have attracted a small, leftist Jewish fan base. “It’s still underground, but it’s getting through,” said Salloum.

“Palestine’s First Lady of R & B” Abeer, who is also in the film, established herself in hip hop singing on the song “Born Here” with DAM. She has collaborated recently with Los Angeles-based Palestinian-American rap crew The Philistines, and also is working on a solo album.

DAM meanwhile, recently launched a small record label to distribute Arab and Palestinian music.

Salloum first heard Palestinian hip hop on the radio — the song “Meen Erhabi” (”Who’s the Terrorist?”) by DAM — which launched the group’s stardom in the region.

She decided first to make a music video for the song, later to make her documentary “Slingshot Hip Hop,” which shows scenes of rappers Tamer, Suhell and Mahmoud in their early, awkward recording attempts and their politicization during the Second Intifada.

By embracing rap “a form of music that is among the most popular around the world — the music of the oppressed and the marginalized — it’s easier to sell their message to young Palestinians,” Salloum said.

“It’s having a huge effect on the new generation,” she said.

Salloum added, however, that some Palestinians do not agree with the music.

“There might be a tiny few who don’t like it. Some say, ‘Why are you dressed that way? You shouldn’t wear baggy clothes.’ At one show, some kids protested (on religious grounds).”

At one point in the film, a female rapper’s family is threatened against appearing on stage again.

In the movie, the rap artists encounter crushing poverty, difficult cultural boundaries, daily border checkpoints, and other obstacles.

“They’re also always broke,” Salloum said. “It took them five years to make an album, they’re struggling financially, and there is no music infrastructure available to them,” she said.

“Hopefully, that will change.”

Snoop Dogg gives up ‘girls and nightlife’

 snoop dog

The rapper-and-actor, who is about to star with his wife and children in new reality TV show Father Hood, has confessed three years ago he almost left spouse Shante for a life of wild partying, until he came to appreciate his “irreplaceable” home life.

Snoop confessed: “I was going to split up with my wife. My wife wasn’t going to split up with me. You know, I was caught up. I was caught up with

Hollywood, all the girls and the nightlife.

“I thought I was the man, and I was willing to give up what I had at home for that until I realised that what I had at home was irreplaceable.

“Sometimes you lose focus because Hollywood can throw you off track. That’s why you now see me doing things like this television show and my own football league, and the positive things I do, because I’m back aware again.”

In 2004, Snoop - real name Calvin Broadus - filed for divorce from Shante after almost seven years of marriage.

The 36-year-old star said the main reason for the reconciliation was that he wanted to be a good father to their three children, Corde, Cordell and Cori.

He said: “I just don’t want another man raising my kids. That was the main goal. I had kids with my wife because I wanted to be with my wife. And those three babies are all wanted, and I wanted to be with them.”
