Johnson & Johnson heiress Casey Johnson, in the spotlight recently for a custody battle, grand theft charges and a flashy engagement to reality TV diva Tila Tequila, was found dead Monday morning in her Los Angeles home, OK! Magazine has confirmed.

News of Johnson’s death began circulating online around 5 p.m. PST, after TMZ reported that the wayward socialite’s body had been found. Access Hollywood reported that the family had issued a statement asking for privacy.

Johnson, the daughter of New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, had recently been trying to regain custody of her daughter, Ava. She’d also been arrested on Nov. 30, 2009, and then charged with two felonies; she was accused of taking about $22,000 worth of items — including underwear and jewelry — from the Hollywood home of Jasmine Lennard, a model and also a reality TV personality who was on Britain’s “Make Me a Supermodel.”

Her parents had recently cut off her trust fund, according to the New York Daily News, after she refused to get help for drug abuse.

Tequila, who had not mentioned her “wifey” Casey on Twitter for a few days — this was unusual, if you follow such things — posted a couple of comments on the microblogging site shortly after reports of Casey’s death began circulating.

The first said she’d be “offline to be w family.” Those tweets were followed by another saying she’d just learned Casey was not dead but instead in a coma, and yet another begging Casey to “hang on” until Tila got home. It was around this time that the OK! confirmation with the LAPD came through.

Tila next tweeted thanks, and a request for privacy, and then, as the Ministry got ready to hit “publish,” posted this:

“R.I.P my Angel. @caseyjonsonJnJ u will forever be in my heart! I love u so so much and we will Marry when I see U in Heaven my Wifey”

Condolences to Casey’s friends and family.

Browns coach Eric Mangini has shipped receiver Braylon Edwards to the New York Jets in a trade.

Details of the deal, first reported by ESPN, are unclear at this time, although ESPN’s Adam Schefter is now reporting that the Browns will get linebacker Jason Trusnik, a standout special teams player, and draft picks in return for Edwards.  Just prior to that report, in a tweet posted by FoxSports.com’s Jay Glazer, the Browns were to receive Trusnik and wide receiver Chansi Stuckey in the deal.

Mangini coached the Jets the three seasons prior to coming to the Browns. On draft day, he traded the Browns’ first pick to the Jets for three players and two draft choices. The Jets used the No. 5 overall draft pick on quarterback Mark Sanchez.

Now Mangini has given his former team a No. 1 receiver who obviously ran afoul of Mangini’s rules.

Brett Favre did something for the Jets he never accomplished during his storied stint in Green Bay, throwing for six touchdowns as his new team beat the Arizona Cardinals.

New York won a wild game, 56-35, in New Jersey on Sunday.

“Throwing six touchdown passes was awesome,” said Favre, who was plagued by a sore ankle during the week. “That had nothing to do with how I felt I played. It was one of those games. More importantly, I felt the overall game itself, I managed it well.

“It’s just one game. Don’t expect six touchdowns every week, but we, as an offensive unit, should see and expect a lot of ourselves.”

Giants Vs Pats Superbowl

Giants cornerback Corey Webster got a shot at redemption, too.

Webster, who was beaten badly on a 90-yard touchdown play in the second quarter from Brett Favre to Donald Driver, made amends in overtime with an interception to set up Lawrence Tynes‘ game-winning kick as the Giants beat the Packers 23-20 on Sunday night in the NFC championship game.

Tynes had missed two field-goal attempts in the final 6:49 of regulation that sent the game into overtime before hitting a 47-yarder. Webster stepped in front of Favre’s pass to Driver on the second play from scrimmage, setting up Tynes’ kick four plays later.

“I kind of figure that they would be looking to go to him,” Webster said. “I got a good jam on him at the line of scrimmage and then I was able to jump the route.”

Favre said that Driver ran a shake route, and his favorite target had slipped by Webster to the outside.

“I just didn’t get it out far enough, it’s too bad,” Favre said.

Webster, a third-year cornerback, had missed a jam on Driver earlier in the game and left the Packers’ top receiving threat wide open downfield after Favre first faked a short pass then a draw play.

Favre fired deep down the right sideline, and Driver made the catch in stride. From there, it was a foot race as Driver outran Webster and New York safeties James Butler and Gibril Wilson for a 90-yard effort, the longest passing play in Green Bay playoff history and Driver’s first TD catch since Week 3.

But Webster rebounded in a big way.

“I’ve been trying to use each game as a stepping stone,” Webster said. “As a team, we have been just grinding it out.”
