Fox TV says a moment of silence during the Black Eyed Peas performance on `American Idol’ wasn’t the network’s doing.

Midway through the song “Boom Boom Pow,” TV viewers heard only silence and saw an “Idol” logo across the screen for a few moments. A Fox spokesman said it was singer will.i.am’s decision to stay mum, apparently to keep an expletive from airing during Wednesday’s performance.

The two-hour finale of “American Idol” featured a lineup of pop stars, including the Black Eyed Peas, Cyndi Lauper and Keith Urban.

Finalists Adam Lambert and Kris Allen were vying for the “Idol” title.

After being jilted by her supposed Rock of Love, Daisy has a fresh crop of twenty men vying for her love and competing to win her heart. This time she is determined to find her one man who will become her Daisy of Love.

Episode 1 Five Eliminated

The triplets (84, 85, 86) were eliminated before the elimination ceremony after they revealed that they were there for free food and liquor, and that they were interested in dating Daisy as a set.

Dropout was eliminated for being a “Goofball” and seeming too much like a cartoon character.

Torch was eliminated because Daisy didn’t feel a connection and “he clicked like a dolphin”.

Aspiring Idols were asked to sing the the hits tonight—a prospect that usually results in a few slams.

Sure enough, Top Downloads night worked for some, while others went spiraling off the deep end when asked to pick a popular iTunes—the only place to buy American Idol performance songs, incidentally—songs and make them their own.

Knowing the judges usually don’t take too kindly to failed attempts at reworking songs that are currently on, or only very recently left, the pop charts, most of the contestants reached deep (at least 10 years or so) into the catalog available to them and pulled out a typically eclectic mix of melodies.

Considering the artists covered Tuesday ranged from Celine Dion to Billy Joel to Bill Withers, it didn’t seem as if the rules encompassed any Top 40 hit that you can currently buy for 99 cents.

Anoop Desai: Ugh. Back to the drawing board for ol’ Anoop-Dogg, who couldn’t do much with Usher’s “Caught Up.” We don’t know about you, but we were caught up grasping at straws to single out any highlight from his performance. Sure enough, things perked up toward the end, but it was too late to salvage what was mostly a karaoke-grade performance. It was kind of “like a bunch of frat guys dared you to get up and sing Usher,” Kara DioGuardi commented, while Simon Cowell found it “a complete and utter mess.”

THE SKINNY: Megan Fox fans, rejoice. The chance to see the TRANSFORMERS actress in a variety water-related scenes might be just ahead.

IESB is reporting that Fox has signed on to play the lead role in a bigscreen adaptation of the comic book series FATHOM. She would be portraying the lead character Aspen, a beautiful girl who was brought to land on a boat thought to have sunk years ago. She eventually ends up working at a high-tech underwater lab, where she discovers a mysterious underwater race and her own water-

FATHOM was created by the late Michael Turner. The movie project has been in development since 2001, when James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment acquired the rights.

Tropic Thunder uses spoof trailers to great effect in its opening sequences, to introduce the film’s actor characters. Now it looks like How To Lose Friends and Alienate People is trying to pull off the same thing.

In it How to Lose Friends, Transformers babe Megan Fox plays a character named Sophie Maes. It seems Sophie is an actor, and she’s starring in a movie about the sexed up sex life of Mother Teresa. Yes I said Mother Teresa. Her nun movie has a full on fake official site and a trailer to go with it. Those of you harboring a secret nun fetish won’t want to miss this. The rest of you… well let’s just say How To Lose Friends and Alienate People isn’t nearly as good at fake trailers as Tropic Thunder. Give me the secret love affair between two priests starring Tobey Maguire and Robert Downey Jr. over the passionate love life of Mother Teresa starring Megan Fox any day.
