The accident happened on Tuesday after the blonde star reportedly started to move off in stationary traffic while the light was still red and ran into a red Ford Explorer sports utility vehicle (SUV) in front.

The 26-year-old was shown on video footage through the car’s blacked out windows with her hand over her mouth as photographers surround her car.

Her bodyguard, travelling in the passenger seat, gave Spears’ information to the SUV’s female driver, US gossip websites People.com and TMZ reported.

Ashlee Simpson was left more than a little embarrassed when she inadvertently called pop peer Britney Spears trashy in a recent radio interview.

Quizzed about her knowledge on London rhyming slang during a recent visit to the U.K., Simpson was asked what she thought the phrase, “You’ve had one-too-many Britney Spears” meant.

Unaware the term referred to someone who had drunk too much beer, Simpson offered her take on the phrase and immediately wished she had kept her mouth shut.

Speaking on British music show “The Nokia Green Room,” she recalled, “I was like, ‘Oh, you’ve had one too many trashy girls!’ And I was like, ‘Oh my god, I can’t believe I just said that!

“It was really bad, I felt horrible.”

Britney Spears‘ aunt has said the singer is definitely on back on track these days and her family are delighted at the progress.

Under dad Jamie Spears’ supervision over the past three months, Britney is said to have gone from strength to strength after accepting medical help following a brief hospitalisation at the start of February.

Her aunt Chanda McGovern said before the conservatorship was put in place at the start of February: “We didn’t know if she’d make it through the next day and we’re all very proud of her now.

“This time last year everyone was in turmoil.

“I hope she’ll never walk down that path again and I think she’s got a bright future.”

She added that she believes a lot of Britney’s problems stem from the fact she’s “very headstrong and doesn’t like being told what to do” but now is a lot more willing to accept help.

Britney’s second cameo on How I Met Your Mother is scheduled to air in the US this week.

Following the success of Britney Spears first appearance on TV sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother’, the popstar is returning to the show.

The singer’s appearance on the hit US show last month resulted in the shows highest ratings to date.

Talking about Spears original guest appearance the show’s executive producer Carter Bays said: “I thought she was great. I was very proud of that episode.”

A source told People Magazine: “The show is ecstatic and so is Britney. She had so much fun the first time around she really wanted to come back.”

Speaking to Hollywood Grind about the one-episode deal, Spears manager Larry Rudolph said: “It was a really positive experience for her. She talked about it quite a bit the last time I saw her. She wants to do it again.”

The 26-year-old pop star has become a regular at two Bally Total Fitness gyms in Los Angeles, and has taken on the company’s top fitness and nutrition experts as her personal coaches.

Bally reports Spears has been working out up to three times a day the past three weeks.
