The former enabler and quote-unquote manager of Britney Spears has been battling her legal team since being banished from her life – and losing, hard.
First, he was slapped with a three-year restraining order last month. Now, his wallet may be taking a hit next as Britney’s attorneys go for the jugular.
Lawyers for the singer asked a Los Angeles court Friday to order Sam Lutfi to pay $123,142 to cover her legal fees for the restraining order battle.

In addition, her lawyers are seeking $129,922 from Jon Eardley, an attorney who has challenged Jamie Spears’ control over his daughter. Eardley claimed Britney contacted him first, which Lutfi also maintained in his restraining order case.
The attorneys want another $72,292 from her ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib, too. Both Eardley and Ghalib were also ordered to stay away from the pop star.
A judge has yet to sign off on the request, but we suspect it will happen soon. You do not mess with the Bank of Britney Spears and its team of lawyers.

Fans are spending more than just a night at the “Circus” – they’re taking it home.

According to Billboard, “Circus,” Britney Spears’ new album will top the album charts next week.

The album could reportedly sell 450,000 copies in its first week on the racks, the same tally that notched Kanye West’s “808s & Heartbreak” the top spot this week. Should Britney complete the feat, it’ll be her fifth No. 1 album — more than any other female artist except Barbra Streisand, Madonna, Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson.

Her previous album, 2007’s “Blackout,” sold 290,000 copies to debut in second place thanks to a last-minute rules change that counted sales of The Eagles’ chart-topping Wal-Mart exclusive, “Long Road Out Of Eden.” Previously, albums sold at a single retailer would not be counted toward chart placement.

Britney has been promoting the album everywhere from Germany’s Bambi Awards to the U.K.‘s “The X Factor” to NBC’s Christmas At Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting and will launch a tour in March.

A judge on Tuesday said a July hearing into control of pop star Britney Spears’ assets will instead look into other matters, giving attorneys time to compile more information about the troubled singer’s affairs.

Court Commissioner Reva Goetz also gave permission to her father Jamie Spears, a co-conservator, to sell the 26-year-old singer’s home in the Los Angeles-area community of Studio City, a court spokeswoman said.

Goetz ruled that a July 31 hearing, which had been scheduled to decide whether to end or extend the control her father and a co-conservator now exercise over her affairs, will instead review matters of evidence in the case.

Spears had seen her life spiral out of control starting in late 2006 when she broke up with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

The two waged a bitter custody battle over their two sons, and earlier this year Spears was admitted to Los Angeles-area hospitals twice for psychiatric evaluation.

In February, the court established the conservatorship to give Jamie Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet control over her assets and medical decisions, and the singer’s life has seemed to stabilize.

She has stayed mostly out of Hollywood’s limelight and even gone back to work on TV, appearing on the comedy “How I Met Your Mother.”

There’s nothing better than returning from a long weekend to discover not one but two incredibly positive stories about Britney Spears. Not only has the singer finally managed to make a public appearance looking downright hot, but she’s also begun dating a very eligible, scandal-free bachelor — William Morris agent Jason Trawick. As you may recall, Trawick was the mystery man splashing around Mel Gibson’s Costa Rica retreat with Britney last week, and reportedly has been looking after Britney ever since the beginning of her American Tragedy downfall. As a source tells OK!, “Britney totally trusts him and she has very deep feelings for him. It’s now got to the point where Britney wants to be with him full time.” And after seeing these pictures of the pair, who went public at an Ed Hardy party over the weekend, we can’t help but notice a very sober-looking Britney appearing genuinely happy for the first time in…ever:

She wore a tight sexy black dress, Louboutin heels and a bright red lipstick. Britney seemed relaxed and happy and laughed as she and Jason shared some jokes. The pair seemed very comfortable together. They sat in a private VIP booth, stayed for 1/2 hour, Britney took a cigarette break and her father seemed to be happy with his daughter having a great time with Jason.

Britney in Louboutins? Where have her beloved glued-on cowboy kickers run off to? Maybe they’ll be her wedding present to Juno Lynn? But, we have to say, our favorite tidbit from this story is the fact that “Britney took a cigarette break” and “her father seemed to be happy” are in the same sentence. It’s times like these when, for just a split second, we kind of wish Jamie Spears was our dad too.

Britney released an album this year! It’s called “Blackout,” it’s available on iTunes, and mark our words when we tell you, this thing is going to pop up on more year-end Top Ten lists than you can shake a stick at. (We wish we were even kidding.) Moving along:

(We’d add Mariah Carey to that list, but then she went and put Kenneth the Page and a freaking unicorn in her video, which pretty much trumps everything.) And then there is her much touted cameo on How I Met Your Mother, for which a promotional clip was posted to CBS’s website today. Let’s count the things right with her performance:

3. Remembers lines.
4. Good eye contact.
5. Nice comic pacing.
6. Uses stage direction as mere jumping-off point.
7. Resists rolling eyes while delivering hacky sitcom dialog paying off some tired recurring joke about star’s mustache.
