Giants cornerback Corey Webster got a shot at redemption, too.

Webster, who was beaten badly on a 90-yard touchdown play in the second quarter from Brett Favre to Donald Driver, made amends in overtime with an interception to set up Lawrence Tynes‘ game-winning kick as the Giants beat the Packers 23-20 on Sunday night in the NFC championship game.

Tynes had missed two field-goal attempts in the final 6:49 of regulation that sent the game into overtime before hitting a 47-yarder. Webster stepped in front of Favre’s pass to Driver on the second play from scrimmage, setting up Tynes’ kick four plays later.

“I kind of figure that they would be looking to go to him,” Webster said. “I got a good jam on him at the line of scrimmage and then I was able to jump the route.”

Favre said that Driver ran a shake route, and his favorite target had slipped by Webster to the outside.

“I just didn’t get it out far enough, it’s too bad,” Favre said.

Webster, a third-year cornerback, had missed a jam on Driver earlier in the game and left the Packers’ top receiving threat wide open downfield after Favre first faked a short pass then a draw play.

Favre fired deep down the right sideline, and Driver made the catch in stride. From there, it was a foot race as Driver outran Webster and New York safeties James Butler and Gibril Wilson for a 90-yard effort, the longest passing play in Green Bay playoff history and Driver’s first TD catch since Week 3.

But Webster rebounded in a big way.

“I’ve been trying to use each game as a stepping stone,” Webster said. “As a team, we have been just grinding it out.”

Oliver Stone’s Next Subject: President Bush

Director Oliver Stone, a vocal critic of the Bush administration’s handling of Iraq, is putting together a feature film project about the current president, and has tapped Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men) as his George W.

Stone, who’s shopping around a script completed pre-strike by his Wall Street co-writer Stanley Weiser, told Daily Variety that he does not intend to make a stridently anti-Bush movie, but instead wants to use a style similar to that of The Queen to explain Bush’s motivations and rise to prominence. ”People have turned my political ideas into a cliché, but that is superficial,” Stone told the trade paper. ”I’m a dramatist who is interested in people, and I have empathy for Bush as a human being, much the same as I did for Castro, Nixon, Jim Morrison, Jim Garrison, and Alexander the Great,” he said, referring to the subjects of his previous films. Stone also asserted that his film will aim to offer a ”fair, true portrait” of Bush, and will contain surprises for both fans and detractors of the president.

Filming on Bush could start as soon as April. As for Stone’s other recent project, a movie about the My Lai massacre called Pinkville, UA has pulled the plug, citing reasons related to the writers’ strike — but Stone told Variety he hopes to get that script back and revive it.

HBO will soon make its content available on the Internet, The New York Post reported in its Monday editions.

The service, HBO on Broadband, will roll out in Green Bay and Milwaukee, Wis., Tuesday - and in other markets shortly thereafter - with the caveat that consumers able to access the service are either HBO subscribers or customers of the high-speed Internet service offered by their local cable operator, Time Warner Cable or subscribers to the roadrunner.com Internet service, the Post reported.

The network is in talks with other cable operators about expanding the service in other markets.

HBO on Broadband will offer 600 titles and 400 hours of downloadable content, including movies, documentaries and original series like “The Sopranos” and “Six Feet Under.” Every month the service will offer the entire set of an HBO series. The service will also feature sample episodes from every HBO original series as well as a “bridge series” ahead of a new season of a given show, the Post reported.

It looks like Britney Spears’ alleged romance with British paparazzo Adnan Ghalib maybe over, after the singer’s assistant, Sam Lufti revealed a copy of a restraining order Britney has issued against Ghalib.

Celebrity photo agency X17 - claim that the troubled pop princess invited a group of their photographers into her Beverly Hills home at 2am - where they “chatted for a while, then escorted Brit and Sam in the car, so Britney could drive around and listen to music. After that, it was back to the house.”

Apparently, Brit told them “Come with me, let’s have fun” - she then opened a bottle of champagne and went outside on the patio to smoke cigarettes. X17’s photographers claim Brit Brit downed a 1/2 glass of champagne the entire evening and never drank more.

A source inside the house said: “We had fun. Britney was funny, very relaxed, dancing a little bit, and she carried her little dog all the time.”

And then, at one point, Britney’s closest confident, Sam Lufti, took a paper out of his pocket - it was a restraining order against Adnan Ghalib. He reportedly said, “Look at this!”

X17 reports that Britney Spears “expressed disappointment and anger toward Adnan for being ’set-up’ in photographs that Adnan and his agency, Finalpixx, have sold of Britney and Adnan together.”

According to PageSix.com, it isn’t the first time a woman has filed a restraining order against the pap.

But a source at the LAPD said that no restraining order has been officially filed, but that doesn’t mean the Toxic singer hasn’t started the paperwork
