The winds of change have caught up to legendary music exec Clive Davis as sources report that the 76 year old music mogul and mentor has now shifted positions from CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of BMG Label Group to the label’s parent company as CCO (Chief Creative Officer) for Sony BMG Worldwide. Has Clive been bumped and demoted or has Davis been forced to make a horizontal move? Whatever the case may be, it appears that the unstoppable force known simply as “change” could be the factor for the move.
According to Reuters and its Media File blog, it appears a window of opportunity to shake things up presented itself after former BMG president and longtime Davis associate, Charles Goldstuck, parted ways with the company. As a result, some sources and insiders are speculating that Goldstuck’s exit paved the way for the Davis move.
The Reuters story goes on the say that “Barry Weiss, a long-time Zomba label exec, will fill Davis’ shoes. He most recently has overseen the careers of Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and R. Kelly.”
We all know that change is inevitable, but Clive Davis is one of the most resilient executives in music history. We’re sure Clive will be fine in whatever position he’s in.
Snoop Dogg to star in soap opera

Rapper Snoop Dogg is a fan of the soap opera One Life to Live and will now get a chance to star in it.
Dogg is set to make cameos in at least two episodes. He is set to appear as himself, performing two songs from his new album Ego Trippin, reports said.
The rapper got involved in the show’s music by doing more than just performing. He worked with the theme song and added some hip-hop feel to it.
He said, “I’ve been a fan of One Life to Live since I was a baby. My momma always had it on the tube in the crib growing up. The opportunity to change up the theme song and give it some of my flavour will make the show the life of the party.”
Beyonce And Jay-Z Crazy In Love Fall-out….
Newlyweds Beyonce Knowles and Shawn ‘Jay-Z‘ Carter had a marital fall-out during a gig - after the hip-hop mogul told a DJ to stop playing her hit, Crazy In Love.
Carter was performing to a sold-out crowd at the Hollywood Bowl on Wednesday (16Apr08) when he decided to rap over some popular songs.
The show’s DJ began to play the 2003 track - which Carter co-wrote and performs on - when the rapper grabbed the microphone and jokingly yelled, “F**k that. Sorry Bey but f**k that - let’s play something else”.

Britney Spears has returned to the recording studio for the first time in a year.
“We went into the studio, but it was just for fun - nothing more,” her former manager Larry Rudolph told Usmagazine.com.
Britney visited a Los Angeles studio on Monday and Tuesday this week.
“She just wanted to go in and tinker around,” a source told the website.
“She sat at a piano and got some ideas. She played the piano and sang a bit. She enjoyed herself.”
Britney had fun playing some of her old music, along with some new tunes, the source added.
“She wanted to go in as a way to get her creativity going. It was a really positive experience for her.”
Larry Rudolph is credited with discovering Britney, launching her career and managing her for nine years.
Although he and the troubled star are not at the stage where they are talking business yet, he told Us that she is on the “right path”.
