Proving to the world that his capabilities go beyond the boundaries of the catwalk, Tyson Beckford has just been added to a star-studded lineup of presenters for the 12th Annual Urban Wheel Awards (UWA).  This much-awaited event will commence on January 15, 2008, five days after the premiere of his newest competitive reality series, Make Me A Supermodel, where he also serves as a co-host.

Set to take place at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, Michigan, the Urban Wheels Awards will honor those revolutionary automotive industry leaders who rise above the conventional and embrace diversity to generate and improve products and services that appeal to a larger customer base.

Also known as the Academy Awards of the automotive industry, it is the only assembly that recognizes the top African American, Asian and Latino executives in the automotive and ancillary industries.  With a theme of “Fashion, Stars & Cars,” the UWA will include A-list entertainment, industry leaders and Hollywood celebrities presenting the UWA awards to the winners in the 12 categories.

“Since our theme this year is Fashion, Stars and Cars, Tyson Beckford epitomizes each aspect–he’s a top fashion model, a star, and hosts his own car show on TV,” UWA creator Randi Payton, CEO/Founder of On Wheels Inc., said in a statement.  “We’re delighted to have him take part in this year’s event.  It’s going to be a great show.”

Reportedly one of the highest-paid and richest Jamaican American male supermodels in the world, Tyson Beckford is known as the lead model for Ralph Lauren.  He has graced countless billboards, numerous ads and participated in many fashion shows worldwide.  In addition to his modeling endeavors, he has recently branched out his credentials as the host of a new car series called Fine Tuned on the Speed Channel.  He has also been cast in a number of movies like King of the Evening and Wait.  His upcoming projects next year include the film Hotel California, which he co-produced, and Bravo’s reality series Make Me A Supermodel.

“Cars have always been a passion of mine and I am honored to be asked to present at the Urban Wheel Awards.  Throughout my career I have always worked to have diversity be embraced–and that’s what the UWA does,” said Beckford.

Fans can catch Tyson Beckford as searches for model wannabes and mold them to become potential supermodel on Make Me A Supermodel on January 10, 2008 on Bravo.

NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice,” which was previously scheduled to premiere on Thursday, January 3 (9-10 p.m. ET), will now debut one week later on Thursday, January 10 (9-10 p.m. ET).

For its seventh season, the series returns to New York City as Donald Trump welcomes an all-star celebrity lineup of candidates who will work to raise over $1 million for various charities.

TASK: SELLING HOT DOGS

The celebrities try their hand at one of the most quintessential New York jobs: hot dog vendor. The team that makes the most money wins.

However, being famous has its privileges, as candidates try to use their contacts to sell wieners at $5,000 and $10,000 a pop.

The stars not only bring out their famous friends (including New York Met David Wright) to help, but they catch the eye of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

For the first time the 14 celebrities are stripped of their managers, personal assistants, agents, and publicists and are thrown out of their comfort zones. They quickly begin to size up each others egos as they come face to face trying to create a team name and captain.

Trump’s eyes and ears on the task are his daughter Ivanka and eldest son Donald Jr.

As previously announced, the fourteen celebrity “candidates” competing for charity are: Trace Adkins, Carol Alt, Stephen Baldwin, Nadia Comaneci, Tiffany Fallon, Jennie Finch, Nely Galan, Marilu Henner, Lennox Lewis, Piers Morgan, Omarosa, Tito Ortiz, Vincent Pastore, and Gene Simmons.

K-Fed Knew About Jamie Before Brit?

This’ll make Britney real happy, y’all — it turns out her mama Lynne may have told the K-Daddy about lil’ Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy before she told Brit-Brit! PopoD’oh!Us reports that Lynne “mentioned” the pregnancy to Federleezy to “warn him that the media would be going crazy.” But, says an Us source, Lynne “asked him as a favor not to say anything to anyone” — until, of course, the OK! magazine piece ran.

This does not surprise any Spears family observers. “Lynne talks to him way more than she talks to Britney,” says a source. Wonder if K-Fed will be dispensing any advice to young Casey Aldridge?

Flavor of Love: Buckwild Wants More Flavor

This summer, VH1 staged a casting blitz for the next season of Flavor of Love, including a web-based casting program. That’s long gone, but did you know that Becky “Buckwild” Johnston wants another shot at Flavor Flav?

It’s completely outside the rules of eligibility, but that didn’t stop Buckwild from throwing her hat at the ring to get another chance on the show. After all, New York (Tiffany Pollard) pulled it off, and certainly helped along her reality career. Buckwild has had a second run at reality stardom with her turn on Charm School, but there’s always room for a little more Flavor of Love.

It’s not just the quest for more screen time, Buckwild said earlier this year, that motivated her to try her luck at the summer’s casting for Flavor of Love. She said, “I’m genuinely attracted to Flav. I love his personality. I’ve never said he was ugly. I’m not gonna be the one that says that. I wouldn’t put a poster of him on my wall, but I’m attracted to him. When you’re around him, he’s got this thing. I don’t know what you call it. It’s that thang. Flav’s got it.”

She said she enjoyed her time with Flavor Flav, she just didn’t get enough of it. “I didn’t get any private dates. I got to go on the gondola for maybe 15 minutes and that was it. I didn’t spend alone time with him, but I did connect with him. I kissed him. They didn’t show it all, but we kissed a little bit. There was a little booty grabbin’. It was good. I think we can take it a little farther.”

She said that despite the fact she voluntarily left the show because New York was invited back, that actually means she really deserves a second chance. “[T]he fact of the matter is, I’m pretty sure I’m the only girl that left without being eliminated by Flav. He didn’t say he didn’t want me. I think I deserve another chance. And, if New York comes back, I’m prepared. I’ve gone through Charm School, I have learned things. I’m telling you, I’m going to take everything I learned in Charm School, I’m going to go to Flavor of Love 3 and I’m going to kill it. Third time’s a charm.”

 shot at love

After taking ”A Shot at Love,” MTV is now saying, ”That’s Amore.”

The channel has greenlighted a spinoff of its hit reality competition series ”A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila,” which ended its run Tuesday with a whopping 6.2 million total viewers tuning in to make it MTV’s most-watched series telecast.

The spinoff will feature popular ”Shot at Love” contestant Domenico Nesci, who grew up in Milan, Italy. Nesci will be looking for an ”American sweetheart” from among 15 bachelorettes who will vie to win his heart and travel to Italy to meet his mother.

”Amore” is scheduled to air Sundays starting March 2.

Tequila, a 26-year-old MySpace pinup, chose film student Bobby Banhart from 32 singles, male and female, who vied for her affection on “A Shot at Love.” A contestant reunion airs at 9 p.m. Sunday.
