Eamon Doyle is an American R&B and Hip-Hop singer/songwriter. He was
born in
Staten Island, New York. He also has a brother, Justin and a sister,
Monique. His father was a member of a Doo-Wop group. He began singing
at the
age of nine, and at the age of fifteen he caught the attention of
songwriter/producer Milk Dee (aka Kirk Robinson)) who had worked with
musicians such as MC Lyte, Janet Jackson, and Mary J. Blige. Dee and
his
co-producer Mark Passy helped refine Eamon's sound. Eamon was
eventually
signed to Jive Records.
Eamon is best known for his hit single, "Fuck It (I Don't Want You
Back)",
song which immediately caught the attention of urban, rhythmic, and pop
radio stations when it was released in the U.S. in late 2003 due to its
stripped down production and edited profanities about an ex-lover who
was
two-timing the singer. Jive fast tracked the release of a music video
for
the song and commissioned an album for release in early 2004. The
single
reached the top 20 of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and the popularity of
the
song helped his album, I Don't Want You Back, debut in the top 10 of
the
U.S. Billboard 200. Eamon also holds a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for "The
Most
Expletives in a #1 Song" for his single "Fuck It (I Don't Want You
Back)"
and he is featured in the 2006 edition book with a top-of-the-page plug
of
his 2004 album cover!
The success of the song prompted Jive to release the song
internationally
where it reached number-one in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and
Sweden.
The success of the single and the controversial nature of its lyrics
prompted production of an answer single, "F.U.R.B (Fuck You Right
Back)", by
unknown female singer Frankee who had claimed to be Eamon's
ex-girlfriend.
After the success of "Fuck It", Eamon released a second single, "I Love
Them
Ho's (Ho-Wop)", however it did not perform well on the charts.
His new album entitled "Love & Pain" has been produced and realized in
collaboration with Needlz, Happy Perez, Roy Hamilton, Milk Dee and
Anthony
Montella (alias DJ Uvex) and has received warm reviews in the U.S. and
abroad with the release of his new single entitled "How Could You Bring
Him
Home" - November 2006. Eamon continues to apply his musical stamp to
current
pop culture with full-length second chapter „Love & Pain” on
Jive/Zomba. The
album’s lead single “(How Could You) Bring Him Home,” was produced by
Happy
Perez (Frankie J), with a video clip directed by Lenny Bass. The album
was
released in some countries of Europe some time ago but the States
release
date was pushed back due to the single poor reception.
Launch single “(How Could You) Bring Him Home” is an ideal bridge
between “I
Don’t Want You Back” and the new material on “Love & Pain.” It again
finds
Eamon unlucky in love, as he returns home early only to find his girl
surprisingly occupied – and then the crossed lover takes action. He
sings:
“I never thought that I’d do something like that/When I saw you two it
hit
me like a heart attack/Oh no, how could you let somebody in through our
door/How could you bring him home?” The accompanying videoclip
illustrates
the complex conundrum that the singer faces, with a surprise ending
that, in
this case, allows the underdog to be a hero.
