There have been a few moments in “I Love Money” where the audience feared for the safety of a contestant, like Mr. Boston two episodes ago or Midget Mac in the first episode when the ladies were looking to tear his eyes out. The fall out with Mr. Boston in the vault caused Craig to be present, and now it seems he might just have to move into the house to keep everyone safe. “Everyone” actually means Pumkin, but more on that to follow.
The competition is starting to get fairly one sided with the Gold Team constantly winning and the Green Team losing members every week. Destiney waved farewell in the last episode, which upset her new beau The Entertainer. He did not burn down the house as he threatened, but instead sulked and complained in his room to 12 Pack.
This episode was all about alliances and what happens when one is broken. The strongest alliance at the moment is between the Stallionaires: Chance, Whiteboy and Real. This trio should have been broken up weeks ago, but despite several chances now, the Gold Team captains have chosen unwisely.
The Stallionaires have an alliance with Pumkin, Toastee, and Hoopz - all from the opposite team - and have promised to give them safety. In a game where only one person can win, and soon they will have no choice but to vote a friend home, these alliances seem pretty ridiculous. It also should be noted that since the Stallionaires are only out for themselves, the girls are only safe for so long. This seems to finally be getting through to Megan and Brandi C, and they made a deal with Pumkin and Toastee for a new alliance between the four girls. They all agreed, but Pumkin and Toastee did not trust backstabbing Megan.
Pumkin and Brandi were team captains this week, and the competition involved a swimming relay race called “Save the Mac.” In “I Love New York 2″ Midget Mac could not swim and was stranded in water as his floaties broke. Buddha saved him, but now it is up to them. There were four dummies out in the water, and the team had to get each one faster than their opponents.
The Gold Team played strategically, and although it seemed tight at first, the combined swimming skill of 12 Pack and Hoopz brought them out on top. The Gold Team won for the fourth week in a row, and that means Pumkin got to choose who goes home. This also meant that one of the Stallionaires had to be in the bottom three since there were only five team members left.
Pumkin found herself in a real dilemma once Brandi C, Megan and Chance ended up being the three in the bottom. Brandi C and Megan were the weaker members, and it is best to send home the strongest person every week. Technically, since Chance threw two challenges and pretty much lost the last one for his team, he actually is not a strong candidate. Yet this would have been a perfect time to break up the Stallionaires. She knew if she sent Chance home, this would break her alliance with them, and they will all be gunning for her.
Megan promised that she and Brandi would protect Pumkin on their away trip, and since Chance absolutely refused to speak up for himself, trusting in his Stallionaire protection, Pumkin did not want to keep him. She was afraid of crossing their trio, however, and this proved to be a very real fear. The Stallionaires talked about her after hours and viciously punched a football/imaginary Pumkin.
In the end, Pumkin surprised everyone - the Stallionaires and the viewers for her guts - by sending Chance home. At first she seemed proud of herself for taking a brave chance, but this quickly turned to abject terror when both Chance and Real get in her face and threatened her. It seemed shocking that the host was simply standing there as they towered over her and terrorized the girl, but this is reality TV. He probably would have let them keep filming even if she was punched in the face.
Still, one has to wonder if next week there will be more caution around the house in case one of the violent Stallionaires try to go after her. Pumkin cannot possibly feel safe there, and she likely is not, so next week will be interesting. Will she be taken out or will her new alliance have her back? Only one thing is for certain: The Green Team better not lose again, or the Stallionaires will be broken! “I Love Money” is on VH1, Sunday’s at 9 pm EST
