Britney Spears has returned to the recording studio for the first time in a year.
“We went into the studio, but it was just for fun - nothing more,” her former manager Larry Rudolph told Usmagazine.com.
Britney visited a Los Angeles studio on Monday and Tuesday this week.
“She just wanted to go in and tinker around,” a source told the website.
“She sat at a piano and got some ideas. She played the piano and sang a bit. She enjoyed herself.”
Britney had fun playing some of her old music, along with some new tunes, the source added.
“She wanted to go in as a way to get her creativity going. It was a really positive experience for her.”
Larry Rudolph is credited with discovering Britney, launching her career and managing her for nine years.
Although he and the troubled star are not at the stage where they are talking business yet, he told Us that she is on the “right path”.
